The following telegram sent by Count Leopold von Berchtold (Austro-Hungarian Foreign Minister) at 11.10 am to M. N. Pashitch (Serbian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister), who received it at 12.30 pm

The Royal Serbian Government not having answered in a satisfactory manner the note of July 23, 1914, presented by the Austro-Hungarian Minister at Belgrade, the Imperial and Royal Government are themselves compelled to see to the safeguarding of their rights and interests, and, with this object, to have recourse to force of arms.
Austria-Hungary consequently considers herself henceforward in state of war with Serbia.

The Imperial German Government have used every effort since the beginning of the crisis to bring about a peaceful settlement. In compliance with a wish expressed to him by His Majesty the Emperor of Russia, the German Emperor had undertaken, in concert with Great Britain, the part of mediator between the Cabinets of Vienna and St. Petersburg; but Russia, without waiting for any result, proceeded to a general mobilisation of her forces both on land and sea.
In consequence of this threatening step, which was not justified by any military proceedings on the part of Germany, the German Empire was faced by a grave and imminent danger. If the German Government had failed to guard against this peril, they would have compromised the safety and the very existence of Germany.
The German Government were, therefore, obliged to make representations to the Government of His Majesty the Emperor of All the Russias and to insist upon a cessation of the aforesaid military acts. Russia having refused to comply with this demand, and having shown by this refusal that her action was directed against Germany, I have the honour, on the instructions of my Government, to inform your Excellency as follows:
His Majesty the Emperor, my august Sovereign, in the name of the German Empire, accepts the challenge, and considers himself at war with Russia.

Countdown to War
King George wires to Tsar that Germany recommended British proposals to Austria on 30 July, but that Russian mobilisation was reported during Austrian Cabinet meeting.
Russia does not reply to German ultimatum expiring at noon.
French mobilisation ordered 3.40 p.m.
Germany, having ostensibly ordered general mobilisation 5 p.m., declares war on Russia 7.10 p.m.; makes out that Russians had crossed frontier in afternoon and begun war. (Declaration drafted before noon.)

Tohle, co jsem našel ve Wiki o sarajevském atentátu, je dost hlína:
"V 10.10[31] se automobil s arcivévodou Ferdinandem přiblížil k Čabrinovićovi, který na vůz hodil bombu. Ta se však odrazila od potahu stažené střechy a spadla zpět na silnici.[32] Nastavení časovače bomby zapříčinilo, že vybuchla až pod vozem následujícím, který byl okamžitě vyřazen z provozu. Výbuch vytvořil v silnici asi 30 cm hluboký kráter a podle agentury Reuters zranil celkem dvacet lidí.[33]
Čabrinović poté polkl připravenou ampulku s kyanidem a skočil do řeky Miljacka. Čabrinovićův pokus o sebevraždu však nevyšel, neboť ampule s kyanidem způsobila pouze zvracení. K utonutí též nedošlo, jelikož je řeka Miljacka velmi mělká. O chvíli později byl zadržen davem přihlížejících svědků a předán policii."
To nebyl atentátník, ale mamlas ! Líbí se mně, že nejenže měl místo kyanidu nejspíš něco úplně jiného o čem si jen myslel, že je to kyanid, ale ještě ke všemu si neověřil, jak je ta říčka vlastně hluboká...

někdy v 80. letech se tu točil velkofil o sarajevském atetntu, hraběnku Chotkovou hrála Florinda Bolkanová, kteroužto italo-brazilskou krasavici jsem měli čest uvítat na Loretě (jako ledaskoho jiného)

Tos mě fakt pobavil, falcone, tou historkou s Čabrinovičem, si tady utírám slzy od chechotu a bránice mě bolí.
Vidím to velice zřetelně, stálo by to za to zakomponovat do nějaké historicky laděné komedie, jak blije a nemůže se utopit.

jo tahle scéna v tom filmu byla. Hrdina stojí po kolena ve vodě vysypav si kornoutek s kynkáli do pusy chvástavě pobízí své pronásledovatele Tak pojdte etc etc
