Subject: THE PRESIDENT WHO IS ECLIPSED BY THE VOID MOON
Today, Turkey's 9th President Suleyman Demirel has lost his last chance to
be voted for another 5 years term as a president. Turkey's current
constitution does not allow for a second term in office and coalition
government has failed to convince the Parliament in his amendment proposal.
Astrologically speaking, it is interesting to note that both of the votings
occurred during the period of Moon's void of course. (The first sitting on
28th of March, the second today) These developments can cast gray clouds
over the domestic politics and there will be need to elect a new candidate
within the current fragmented Parliament which may cause high instability
due to competition should no shared victory are allowed among parties.
Suleyman Demirel was born 1 Nov 1924, in Isparta, Turkey but we do not have
a reliable birth hour, my earlier rectification study shows that Sagittarius
rising is possible depending on his political history. Hence, 10:00 am can
be used for that speculated chart.
This chart's current lunar return shows
much strain in the 7th house while Mars on the cusp along with Jupiter and
Saturn. In Mr. Demirel's secondary progressions, the Moon enters Libra
heralding a new atmosphere while his Solar/Lunar progress relationship still
give public power as he will be living last quarter period by 2002. Hence I
cannot say that Mr. Demirel will fade away or disappear from politics soon.
His own intention also reveals that he will be in this power game. Solar arc
directions shows Neptune over his Sun currently.
These new developments are quite revealing that Turkey is still experiencing Neptune square to her natal Sun in Scorpio creating new chaos like atmosphere. However, it is evident that a new way of politics without old politicians will be in the agenda of this change in uncertainty. Increasing political instability can bring new problems and lessons for politicians. In the short term these changes can be seen as unfortunate but a new chapter has to be opened through some effort and challenge.
Last but not the least, Mr. Ecevit's insistence on 5+5 formula for Demirel (has become a farce as they were old rivals in the 1960's and 70's) failed while Moon transiting over his 12th house. (House of undoing)
All the best from Istanbul,
